Controlling Pests on Building Projects
A lot of the building projects that we encounter through rebuilding homes for communities is the infestation of pests. We’ve encountered cockroach infestations, termites in the flooring, and bedbugs. The most dreadful things you can imagine live and breathe in the broken homes that need fixing across Northern California. According, to Consumer Reports, pest infestations are the third most problem you shouldn’t ignore for repairs on your home, and we wholeheartedly agree!
How does this happen?
Well, one reason is that when a home has been unoccupied for a long period of time, dust, mold and grime begin to accumulate, and overtime they build food for bugs. Then, those bugs become food for other bugs, and the cycle continues on an on.
Another reason is that wood and pipes decay. Wood rots, and this rotting is very appealing to termites, carpenter ants and other wood craving bugs. But, by far, the worst kind of critter for your home is the subterranean termite. According to Big Time Pest Control, “Subterranean termites are extremely destructive because they tunnel their way to wooden structures (like your home), into which they burrow to obtain food“. This is why we always get a termite inspector for every job, because a lot of the times larvae and/or eggs are difficult to see, and you may have an infestation without know it.
Pests: Our Biggest Obstacle
Getting rid of those annoying little creatures has become one of our biggest problems, especially for helping those living in California. We strive to make sure that all of the homes we fix will be in perfect shape for the new owners, and give you a home that is pest free.
